Billy Evans, Elizabeth Holmes’ partner and the father of her two children, held an “Ask Me Anything” on X about You Can See Everything, the documentary by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. The Q&A included questions about scenes in the film and Evans’ relationship with Holmes, as well as lighter topics. His opening post was “AMA,” followed by the caveat: “Needs to be legally permissible.”
Asked what viewers misunderstood about the film, Evans rejected the suggestion that he controls Holmes. He described her as “fiercely independent” and “strong-willed,” adding that they are partners who challenge each other and face the world together. In response to a separate question about whether he had ever lied, he answered simply: “Yes.”
Evans said he did not regret taking part in the documentary. He attributed his repeated sniffing, which some viewers had speculated was linked to cocaine use, to allergies and catching colds from his children. On the film’s early scene showing him naked in the shower, he called the claim that he had agreed to it a “false narrative” and linked to a People report saying a source described him as feeling “violated.”
The AMA also touched on whether Holmes knew Evans had reached an agreement with Fielder, Lance Oppenheim and A24 to receive part of the film’s profits. Holmes says in the documentary that she is not being paid to participate, while Fielder and Oppenheim say Evans made a deal with them and the studio. Asked about the scene in which the agreement was discussed, Evans responded: “Lmao, the house this was at was a single story. All you need to know.” The report says Evans and Holmes gave up their share of the film’s profits before its release.
Evans also addressed having power of attorney over Holmes and using her X account to post on her behalf. He said Holmes “knew exactly what we were doing” and that they discuss everything, including X. He described the power of attorney as a legal mechanism that let him act for her while she was incarcerated, adding that it was “not a substitute for her consent.”
Among the less serious answers, Evans joked that remembering his lines was the hardest part of filming. He named The Fall, Alien, The Great Dictator and Primer as his four favorite films. Asked about pop divas, he praised Chappell Roan’s live performances, said he bought his engagement ring at a Taylor Swift Reputation tour merchandise stand, and called Aretha Franklin the singer with the best voice.
