Bruce Springsteen has endorsed Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race, as Election Day approaches. In an Instagram post on Monday, Nov. 2, Springsteen described El-Sayed as a fighter for the Constitution and American democracy, and against what he called the “corrupt, lawless, and anti-American leadership” in the White House. He added: “I’m in his corner 100%.”

El-Sayed is running against Republican Mike Rogers for the seat held by Democrat Gary Peters. The race has drawn added attention after Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens withdrew her support for El-Sayed and endorsed Rogers. In response, state Democratic Party chairman Curtis Hertel said on X that Stevens “is not a current member of the Michigan Democratic Party, nor will she be in the future.”

Springsteen has frequently spoken out on political issues, including his opposition to Donald Trump. He has also described his recent Land of Hopes & Dreams tour as a statement, telling Rolling Stone that it was the show and story he wanted to present, despite strong reactions to its content.
