U.S. ICE dancers Caroline Green and Michael Parsons have brought music from the Broadway musical Hamilton to the rink for their 2026–27 season. The pair debuted their new rhythm dance at Skate Canada over the weekend, and the musical’s official X account shared a rehearsal clip on Sunday.

Their two-minute, 50-second routine features three songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda for the show: “Ten Duel Commandments,” “Your Obedient Servant” and “The Room Where It Happens.” Green and Parsons scored 74.24 points for the rhythm dance and finished third overall at the event, the second stop in the figure skating Grand Prix series.

Green described the program as a contest between Hamilton and Burr, drawing on the show’s opening and its contrast between Burr in red and the rest of the cast in white and cream. She said the costumes take a modern approach, noting that long coats and colonial dress are not practical for figure skating.

Skate Canada was the routine’s Grand Prix debut. Green and Parsons had previously performed it at two Senior B events: they placed third at the Denis Ten Memorial Challenge and fifth at the CS Nepela Memorial Trophy.

The pair are scheduled to compete next at the Finlandia Trophy in November. Hamilton music has appeared in figure skating before: U.S. skater Jason Brown used “The Room Where It Happens” for his short program in the 2017–18 season.
