Democrats swept back into control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections, prompting celebratory posts from artists and actors. The result also means Donald Trump will spend the final two years of his presidency without control of Congress, according to the report.
Mandy Moore followed the results on Instagram Stories. She celebrated the changing count in Texas and praised Stacey Abrams, calling the politician, lawyer and voting rights activist “a hero” who “opened the door for tonight.”
Henry Winkler responded to a post on X asking people how they were feeling. “Dreams do come true,” the veteran actor wrote.
Several musicians had encouraged people to vote before Election Day. Bruce Springsteen reminded election officials that “our vote is our voice,” while Olivia Rodrigo showed support for Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton by wearing a campaign shirt during a tour stop in Columbus.
Adéla also urged eligible Americans to vote after the White House TikTok account used her song “Nicole Kidman” in a pro-Trump video. The Slovak artist said the song choice was “obviously so f—ing wrong” because she opposed the values of Trump and his party. She could not vote herself, but shared a “Go Vote” message with a blue heart.
