Christie’s to Auction Blaquier-Arrieta Collection in London

The tureen was once part of a pair that Christie’s sold together in Geneva in 1977. The sale set a world auction record for a silver object at 2.8 million Swiss francs. The buyer later separated the pair: the tureen now being offered entered the collection of Baron Heinz Thyssen-Bornemisza, while its counterpart went to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
