Cult of Luna have released “Sadness Will Reign,” a new single featuring Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier on guest vocals. It is the fourth track shared from the band’s upcoming studio album, In the Shadow of Your Shadow, which arrives November 6.
The song follows the album’s title track, “A Way Back” and “The Rift.” Its sound has been described as apocalyptic, with echoes of Neurosis and a style associated with Cult of Luna’s 2008 album Salvation. Duplantier provides the guest vocal performance.
Cult of Luna singer and guitarist Johannes Persson praised Duplantier’s distinctive voice, saying it helps Gojira stand out and would remain recognizable among hundreds or thousands of other vocalists.
