A Dutch cinema chain is testing whether hypnosis can help moviegoers experience familiar films as if they were seeing them for the first time. Pathé’s Pathé REWIND experiment is scheduled for November 9 at a theater in The Hague, with 30 participants taking part.

Before watching films including The Matrix, Se7en, La La Land and Interstellar, participants will undergo hypnosis from Victor Kraemer. The experiment aims to make them forget the films’ stories and rediscover their twists during the screening.

Pathé is presenting REWIND as an experiment and has made no claims about whether it will work. The chain describes Kraemer as a hypnotherapist with 30 years of experience.

“Who wouldn’t want to see their favorite film again for the very first time?” Pathé spokesperson Imke van Schaaijk said in a press release, adding that the wish is shared by many film fans.
