Almost 40 years after George Michael’s 1988 breakthrough established him as a major figure in global pop music, fans will be able to revisit his most iconic tour on the big screen. Distributed by Universal Pictures, George Michael: The Faith Tour opens in cinemas on November 6.

Directed by the artist’s longtime collaborators Andy Morahan and David Austin, the film features restored 35mm footage from two historic concerts at Paris’s Palais Omnisports de Bercy. The performances were recorded with 14 cameras and remained in the archives for decades before being presented to audiences.

The concert footage captures Michael at the height of his vocal power and stage presence. The film also begins with Finding Faith, a short film directed by Mary McCartney, and includes previously unreleased audio interviews with Michael, behind-the-scenes footage from the video for “Faith” and a selection of rare photographs curated by photographer Herb Ritts.

Alongside the film’s European release, Sony Music and George Michael Entertainment will publish The Faith Tour: The Live Album. The record contains 18 previously unreleased live tracks, bringing together songs from Michael’s solo album Faith and major pop songs he wrote with Wham!.
