Gracie Abrams brought Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet to Saturday Night Live on October 31, performing two songs in costumes inspired by the film’s central characters.
For her first appearance, Abrams performed ‘Hit The Wall’, the lead single and opening track from her third studio album, Daughter From Hell. Dressed as Juliet, the character played by Claire Danes, she recreated the angel costume from the film’s party sequence and began the performance behind an aquarium, echoing the scene in which Romeo and Juliet first see each other through a fish tank.
Abrams returned later in the episode to perform ‘Here You Come, There You Go’, a song released on October 29 that will appear on the deluxe edition of Daughter From Hell. This time, she portrayed Leonardo DiCaprio’s Romeo, wearing a Hawaiian shirt and metallic sleeves inspired by his knight costume in the film.
The Halloween special was hosted by Inde Navarrette, star of Obsession. The episode marked Abrams’ second appearance as an SNL musical guest, following her debut in December 2024, when she performed ‘That’s So True’ and ‘I Love You, I’m Sorry’ from The Secret Of Us.
Abrams announced the expanded edition of Daughter From Hell days before the performance. Due on November 20 through Interscope, the deluxe release will add five tracks: ‘Here You Come, There You Go’, ‘Lost In It’, ‘Crazy Girl’, ‘Love Letter’ and ‘Out Of Nowhere’.
The original album was released on July 17, with Abrams again working extensively with The National’s Aaron Dessner. She is scheduled to begin her 2026–2027 The Look At My Life Tour at Denver’s Ball Arena on December 2. The arena run will include UK and Ireland dates next spring, with stops in Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow and London.
