Harry Styles ended his 30-date residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Saturday, October 31, with a special Halloween performance dubbed “Harryween.” The final show included his first live performance of Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer” and a costume inspired by the city’s infamous pizza-carrying rat.
Styles appeared onstage in a full rat costume while carrying a large slice of pizza, referencing a viral 2015 video filmed in the New York subway. His backing band also dressed as New York symbols, including a yellow taxi and a hot dog. Midway through the 22-song set, the singer changed into a shirt reading “I AM A RAT,” shorts with an attached tail and matching ears.
The set also featured fan favourites such as “Aperture,” “Sign Of The Times” and “As It Was.” The venue marked the end of the 10-week residency by displaying related memorabilia on its sixth floor and adding a commemorative banner to the rafters.
NBA star Jalen Brunson, this year’s NBA Finals MVP, briefly joined Styles onstage as a special guest and presented him with another banner celebrating the singer’s 30 consecutive shows at the venue.
The concert was the second of two “Harryween” performances. On the previous night, Styles wore an Elvis Presley-inspired white jumpsuit, cape and gold sunglasses before changing into the outfit he wore for his 2010 audition for The X Factor. During that show, he performed Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely,” the song he sang at the audition, and told the audience that he “works in a bakery,” referencing his job at the time.
Styles has continued the Halloween tradition at Madison Square Garden in previous years. In 2021, he dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and as a clown, while his 2022 costumes included Danny Zuko from Grease. That year, he also performed Olivia Newton-John’s “Hopelessly Devoted To You.”
After completing the Madison Square Garden residency, Styles is scheduled to perform in Melbourne and Sydney as part of his remaining 2026 shows. He is expected to resume touring in the new year with dates in the UK, Europe, the United States and other locations, with support from Kylie Minogue and LCD Soundsystem.
