Harry Styles has thanked New York City after concluding his 30-night Together, Together residency at Madison Square Garden. The singer shared a letter with readers in a special print edition of The Village Voice published Monday, Nov. 2, two days after the residency ended.

“It has been an honor to live and work in your city for the past three months,” Styles wrote, expressing gratitude to New Yorkers for giving his performances a place in the city’s cultural history. He also described the shows as a joyful experience, highlighting the audiences’ energy, openness and dancing.

Styles said the special issue offers a partial record of the Madison Square Garden run in collaboration with The Village Voice, which he called an important chronicler of New York’s cultural life. He closed his message by telling New Yorkers to “take care of each other” until his next visit.

The edition includes concert photography and articles about the residency’s opening acts, including Tinashe, Jamie xx, Caroline Polachek and Lainey Wilson. It also covers Styles’ band and crew, along with charitable partners such as Planned Parenthood, Food Bank For NYC, HeadCount and Choose Love.

Styles began the New York shows in late August after taking the tour to Amsterdam, London, São Paulo and Mexico City. The residency supports his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, which topped the Billboard 200.

The issue also features an op-ed by Anna Wintour, who encouraged Styles to return to New York for a Broadway production. Wintour wrote that his Madison Square Garden show demonstrated the kind of joy and togetherness associated with theater and suggested him for a potential production of Singin’ in the Rain.

Styles is now scheduled to take a break from live performances before returning to the stage in late November for shows in Australia. Next year, Together, Together is set to continue with performances across North America and Europe.
