Iron Maiden and Z2 Comics have announced Somewhere in Time: The Graphic Album, a new book adapting the songs on the band’s 1986 album. The graphic album is due out March 2, 2027, and features the band’s mascot, Eddie, portrayed as a gun-wielding cyborg in the distant future.

The book includes a prologue and epilogue, alongside comic adaptations of all eight tracks. Its creative contributors include Kelly Sue DeConnick, Steve Niles, Goran Parlov, David Dastmalchian, Corin Hardy, Leah Moore and Vincent Locke, among others.

Comic-book artist Bill Sienkiewicz wrote the introduction. The volume also includes an interview with guitarist Adrian Smith about the album’s creation, conducted by Dave Shack of Phantom. Smith praised the design of Eddie, calling it his favorite version and saying its power and menace complement the music.

The Deluxe and Platinum editions will come in metallic Time Machine slipcases with a die-cut green acetate targeting lens and a cover by Blake Armstrong. The standard retail edition will be available with three covers: Jay Geldhof’s through EMP, Dan Mumford’s through Rarewaves, and Tony Harris’ through other retailers. Deluxe and Platinum editions also include prints of four covers by Davide Fabbri and a bookplate signed by Smith.

This is Iron Maiden and Z2’s third collaboration, following the Piece of Mind graphic album and Bruce Dickinson’s The Mandrake Project: Year One.
