Jimmy Kimmel used his late-night show to celebrate Democratic gains in the Midterm elections, describing the results as a “blue tsunami” and taking aim at Donald Trump. Some races had not yet been called when the episode aired, but Kimmel said the results pointed to a Democratic victory. The party went on to win both the House and the Senate.
Kimmel joked about an election model that put the Republicans’ chances of keeping the House at five percent, comparing it to rolling a 20 on a 20-sided die. He also mocked Vice President JD Vance, saying Democrats had taken so many seats that Vance could not find one “to have sex with him tonight.”
The host said Trump was reportedly angry and cursing as results came in, and highlighted several races, including James Talarico’s successful campaign in Texas. Kimmel also played a clip of Trump claiming a 99 percent approval rating in Israel and suggesting he could move there and become prime minister. Kimmel joked that he would pay for Trump’s flight.
As the show aired, Kimmel declared, “The blue wave has made landfall and now the RED wedding begins.” He also called Trump a “lame duck” and an “orange chicken” at the same time.
