Matsuri, a showcase of contemporary Japanese music, will come to London for the first time on December 14. The Japanese Music Experience will make its European debut at Outernet Live, featuring Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Otoboke Beaver and Hitsujibungaku on an all-female bill.

Hitsujibungaku, the indie band whose music has accumulated 200 million streams worldwide, also featured in the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, known for her J-pop and hyperpop sound, has collaborated with Charli XCX. Punk rock quartet Otoboke Beaver have toured with acts including Green Day, Jack White, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Oasis.

Kyary said she was excited to return to London and perform alongside a diverse group of Japanese artists. Otoboke Beaver said they were honoured to be part of the event and were travelling to London specifically for the show.

Tickets go on sale November 6 at 10am GMT. The event is presented by Music Way Project.

The London appearance will be Hitsujibungaku’s first UK show since releasing their fifth album, “Don’t Laugh It Off,” in 2025. Kyary is preparing a new album for 2027, while Otoboke Beaver’s most recent album is 2022’s “Super Champon”; the group released a three-track single, “Is the New Album Out Yet?,” in the spring.
