Director Matteo Rovere has celebrated Kimi Antonelli by sharing previously captured set photos from Veloce come il vento, his 2016 film starring Stefano Accorsi and featuring Matilda De Angelis in her screen debut.

In the film, a very young Antonelli played a friend of Nico, the younger brother of the protagonist. The story follows a 17-year-old driver competing in the prestigious Italian GT championship.

The images show Antonelli beside the red Peugeot 205 GTi used in the racing scenes and holding onto Rovere’s arm on set. Another photograph shows him smiling with the Italian flag after his Formula One world title victory.

Rovere accompanied the post with a message of encouragement for Antonelli, while also praising his parents, Marco and Veronica, as an inspiration for parents who support their children while helping them remain connected to their origins.
