My Chemical Romance has earned its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, two decades after the original release of The Black Parade. The anniversary edition topped the chart dated Nov. 7 following its deluxe reissue on Oct. 23 through Reprise Records.

The band acknowledged the achievement on Instagram Stories by resharing Billboard’s announcement and adding Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” as the soundtrack. The post also featured eight black heart emojis.

According to Luminate, the album generated 78,000 equivalent album units during the tracking week ending Oct. 29. The result was driven by album sales, which increased by more than 2,000 percent, sending The Black Parade from No. 139 to No. 1. The original album had reached No. 2 upon its debut in 2006.

The deluxe release contains the original album along with six additional tracks. The collection includes the B-sides “Heaven Help Us,” “Kill All Your Friends” and “My Way Home Is Through You,” as well as live recordings of “Dead!,” “The Sharpest Lives” and “Someone Out There Loves You,” captured during the band’s 2007 tour supporting the album.

The anniversary edition also reached No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart dated Oct. 30. In a joint statement accompanying the release, the band reflected on the album’s importance and said the collection marked the first time it had brought together everything completed during the original recording sessions.
