Nicki Minaj stood by Donald Trump and the Republican Party after Democrats scored major victories in the midterm elections. The rapper posted a 15-point message on X the day after the results, following a brief period of silence.
Among her comments, Minaj wrote that “Trump is STILL your PRESIDENT” and urged her followers to “WAKE UP.” She also congratulated Republican Byron Donalds on winning Florida’s gubernatorial race. At the time of the original report, the Associated Press had not called the race for Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna in Florida’s 13th District, whom Minaj also congratulated.
Most of the candidates Minaj publicly backed were defeated. In Michigan, Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers lost to Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, while Republican gubernatorial candidate John James lost to Democrat Jocelyn Benson. In New York, Republican Bruce Blakeman was defeated by incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul. Donalds was the only successful candidate among those named in the report.
Minaj also criticized users of X, writing that Elon Musk remained a trillionaire while they continued posting on his platform. She praised Musk’s Grok chatbot, calling it a “phenomenal product” that had improved her life.
The report describes Minaj’s support for Trump as part of a growing relationship with his political movement. In October, she traveled with Trump aboard Air Force One to a rally, conducted a mock interview with him and praised him as a businessman and a “great guy.” She also said he had “won three elections,” though he has won two, according to the source.
