Nicolas Fraiseau’s solo circus show “Ignis” puts fire at the center of a performance designed and performed by the artist. Created in 2025, the production has been touring continuously since its premiere, with dates in France and Belgium.
The show was presented at the Village de cirque on Paris’s pelouse de Reuilly from September 11 to 20. Before the performance, audience members are told that it includes flames and smoke, and that the big top has been secured and treated to resist fire. They are also informed that they can leave the venue if needed.
The title “Ignis” means “fire” in Latin. The production is performed solo by Fraiseau, who conceived the show around the element that gives it its name.
