Ozzfest has begun a countdown ahead of an expected announcement about its 2027 return. The clock, posted Tuesday with the caption “Countdown’s begun,” is set to reach zero at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 5. The festival has not disclosed what the announcement will reveal.
The countdown follows a week of cryptic social media posts, including one featuring the Ozzfest logo and the words “Tell me people…” and another filled with white question marks. Fans commenting on the latest post speculated about a lineup, but no performers have been confirmed in the available information.
Ozzfest has already said its reboot will include a stop in Villa Park, in Ozzy Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham, as well as U.S. dates. In a Sept. 21 post, the festival announced plans to come to the U.K. and U.S. and said more information was coming.
Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s widow and longtime manager, told Billboard earlier this year that she had been discussing a return with Live Nation. She said Ozzy was passionate about giving emerging acts the chance to perform for large audiences.
Sharon Osbourne launched Ozzfest in 1996 after she was unable to book Ozzy for Lollapalooza. The festival became a popular annual hard rock and heavy metal tour in the U.S. and Europe, running through 2008 before returning sporadically. Its most recent edition was a one-day event in 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, California, featuring Rob Zombie, Body Count and Marilyn Manson, among others.
