Robert Smith says The Cure are planning more concerts for 2027, with setlists expected to be “bursting with new songs”. The frontman shared the news on Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio 6 show, adding that he could not yet disclose the dates or locations. “Watch this space,” he said.

Smith’s message also recognised The Cure’s place on the shortlist for 6Music’s 2026 Artist of the Year. He described the band’s final summer concert at Rock en Seine in Paris, along with “pretty much every one” of their shows in between, as highlights of his year.

The Cure spent the summer on the road following the release of their latest album, “Songs of a Lost World”. Their European and UK festival run included a show at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park, as well as appearances at the Isle of Wight Festival, Primavera Sound Barcelona and Rock en Seine.

The promise of new songs comes as Smith has discussed further albums in the works. He previously said the band had completed two records: one described as dark and connected to “Songs of a Lost World”, and another that he called more upbeat and “poppy”. The band recorded 13 songs for the first of the two albums at Rockfield Studios in March 2025; none of that material has been played live so far, according to the report.
