The Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in Rome is paying tribute to pianist Keith Jarrett by broadcasting selections from his forthcoming live album “Roma” across its outdoor spaces. The preview takes place ahead of the record’s release on November 6 by ECM Records.
The album documents Jarrett’s solo concert in the venue’s Sala Santa Cecilia on July 12, 2016. Music will be heard throughout the Auditorium’s outdoor areas, from the portico to the Cavea.
“Roma” is the fifth and final release from Jarrett’s 2016 European solo tour. It follows albums recorded in Budapest, Bordeaux, Munich and Vienna. The new recording features ten original sections and two standards: “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “It’s a Lonesome Old Town.”
The Auditorium said the event celebrates the venue’s role in capturing one of the significant recordings from Jarrett’s artistic career, bringing the music back to the place where the concert took place ten years ago.
