Nicole Taylor, lead singer of the country trio Taylor RED, has died at 35 after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. Her sisters and bandmates, Nika and Natalie Taylor, announced her death in a TikTok video posted Monday, Nov. 2.

“We’re heartbroken to announce the passing of our sister Nicole Taylor,” Nika said. “We honestly thought she’d be healed here on Earth, but now she’s healed in heaven.” Natalie said the cancer was aggressive and recalled that Nicole had said, “God’s gonna use this for his glory.”

Nicole was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Her sisters said she continued to approach life with hope, exercising during chemotherapy and responding well to treatment before being declared free of evidence of disease. They later learned the cancer had advanced to stage four.

Nika said Nicole spent that period traveling and enjoying life, and that she had found peace in her final days. The sisters said they were shocked by her death but were grateful she was no longer suffering.

The family said a private funeral service has already taken place. A page dedicated to Nicole lists charities where people can donate in her honor.

Taylor Red, formed by Mississippi-born identical triplets Nicole, Nika and Natalie, released its debut album, “Red Roots,” in 2010, followed by “The Middle of Nowhere” in 2012 and “Triplicity” in 2014. Nicole was the group’s lead singer and, like her sisters, played banjo, guitar and violin. The trio also appeared in humorous YouTube videos and Sonic commercials.
