The Chicks celebrated Democrats’ midterm election victories during a concert at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, Nov. 3, holding up red folding fans bearing the message “F–k Trump,” according to a photo shared by the group on its Story.
“Welcome to our blunami night,” lead singer Natalie Maines told the audience as the trio fanned themselves with the signs, The Independent reported. Maines said she was glad the crowd could share the night, adding that Texas, the Senate and the House were blue. She also welcomed fans to the 20th anniversary of the group’s album “Taking the Long Way.”
The results were particularly significant for the Texas-born group, which also includes Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer. James Talarico won a Senate seat in Texas, becoming the first Democrat to do so in the state since 1994, defeating Republican Ken Paxton, according to the supplied report.
The report said Democrats flipped seven Senate seats and were projected to take control of both chambers of Congress in the new year. At the time of publication, Democrats led in House races by 228 seats to 139, with NBC projecting a possible 255-seat majority.
The Chicks have previously criticized Trump and his administration. Earlier this year, the group called him a “deranged nut job” during a performance, the report said.
