Usher has offered a preview of a remix of Drake and Loe Shimmy’s “I’m Spent,” singing over the track during an Instagram Live studio session on Monday night, November 2. The R&B singer adds his signature croon to the woozy production and refers to the version as a remix in the lyrics he performed.
It remains unclear whether the track will receive an official release or appear on a future Usher album. His most recent project, “COMING HOME,” arrived ahead of his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in February 2024. The album was nominated for a Grammy for best R&B album and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
“I’m Spent” appeared on Drake’s “HABIBTI” album, released in May. The song peaked at No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Loe Shimmy’s first top 40 hit.
Drake brought Usher onstage at OVO Fest in 2014 and said a collaboration was in the works. A rumored track called “Slow Motion” never appeared on either artist’s projects and leaked in 2020. Usher also appeared at an Atlanta stop on Drake and Future’s Summer Sixteen Tour.
Usher is currently touring with Chris Brown on the R&B Tour. According to Billboard Boxscore, it was September’s highest-grossing and best-selling tour, earning $77.4 million and selling 423,000 tickets across 10 shows. The pair became the first co-headlining acts to share the No. 1 position on the Top Tours chart.
