Nicki Minaj posted an apparently AI-generated image of Chucky wearing a pink suit and a “Vote RED” badge on Election Day, urging fans to vote Republican. The image drew a response from Don Mancini, the filmmaker who created the horror character, who said Chucky would take the opposite position.

“Chucky has a trans kid,” Mancini wrote on X, alongside a photo of a Chucky doll holding a Glenda figurine. He added that Chucky “protects the dolls,” is “anti-ICE” and says “A BLUE WAVE” is coming. After Democrats won control of both the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as several local elections, Mancini posted an edited image of Chucky with blue hair and wrote, “Too bad, Nicki!” He added that the image was not AI-generated.

Glenda, also known at times as Glen, is the child of Chucky and Tiffany in the Child’s Play franchise. The character’s gender and expression are fluid in the films.

Minaj has referenced Chucky for years, including in her verse on Ye’s “Monster.” In 2019, she and her husband, Kenneth Petty, dressed as Chucky and Tiffany for Halloween. She has also shared Chucky images and memes on social media, including posts taunting Democrats since publicly joining the MAGA movement.

“Happy Election Day!!!” Minaj wrote on X alongside the AI image. She had not posted since the election results, according to the source. Her most recent music releases were in 2024: “Big Foot,” which reached No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “AGATS2 (Insecure),” a posthumous duet with Juice WRLD that peaked at No. 68.
