John Travolta will attend the 44th Turin Film Festival, running from November 24 to December 2. He is set to present the Italian premiere of Propeller One-Way Night Coach, his first film as a director, and receive the Stella della Mole Award during the festival’s opening ceremony.
Written, directed, narrated and produced by Travolta, the film is based on his short story of the same name. It follows a boy whose unforgettable experience aboard an aircraft sparks a fascination with flying that stays with him throughout his life.
The festival’s artistic director, Giulio Base, described Travolta as an internationally recognised performer whose characters have left a mark on audiences and popular culture. The Stella della Mole Award recognises prominent figures who have made a significant contribution to international cinema.
Travolta’s career spans more than five decades across film, television and theatre. His filmography includes Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Urban Cowboy, Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty, Face/Off and Hairspray, as well as the television series The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story. He has been nominated for two Academy Awards and has won a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award; he was also awarded an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
