Josiah Queen’s Damascus Road has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart, earning 27,000 equivalent album units during the week of Oct. 23–29, according to Luminate. The album also opened at No. 4 on Americana/Folk Albums and No. 16 on the Billboard 200, on charts dated Nov. 7.
The debut is the strongest opening by units on Top Christian Albums since Brandon Lake’s King of Hearts launched with 37,000 in June 2025. Damascus Road also marks the biggest debut for a Christian album on the Billboard 200 this year.
It is Queen’s third studio album in three years, following 2025’s Mt. Zion, which opened with 15,000 units, and 2024’s The Prodigal, which started with 4,000. Each album debuted at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums. Queen is the first act to achieve chart-topping starts in three consecutive years since the chart adopted its current methodology in February 2017.
Eight of Damascus Road’s 14 tracks debuted on Hot Christian Songs. “Demons,” the album’s lead release and a former two-week No. 1, holds at No. 2 with 2.6 million official streams and a radio audience of 3.2 million. “Amazing,” featuring Elevation Rhythm, ranks at No. 5, while “Sundays” is at No. 11 and “Make Heaven Crowded” at No. 20. “Out of Breath” is the highest new entry, at No. 9.
Queen’s “Dusty Bibles,” from Mt. Zion, became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry last November and won Song of the Year at the 2026 GMA Dove Awards in October. His first headlining arena tour is scheduled to begin April 8, 2027, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
