My Chemical Romance earned its first No. 1 on the Billboard-200/">Billboard 200 with a reissue of its 20-year-old album The Black Parade. The release is part of a broader run of anniversary editions returning to the chart this fall.
Recent top 10 entries include The Beatles’ Rubber Soul, which re-entered at No. 4 with its 50th-anniversary edition on the Oct. 17 chart; Mac Miller’s The Divine Feminine, which climbed from No. 159 to No. 10 after its 10th-anniversary re-release on the same chart; and Beyoncé’s B’Day, which re-entered at No. 8 with its 20th-anniversary reissue on Sept. 19. Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black, reissued last month for its 20th anniversary, returned to the Billboard 200 at No. 42 this week.
The Billboard Pop Shop Podcast examines the renewed chart presence of these albums and considers which 2007 releases could receive 20th-anniversary reissues next year. The episode also covers My Chemical Romance’s chart-topping album, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” returning to the Billboard Hot 100’s top 20, and JADE’s Hot 100 debut with “Angel of My Dreams,” following last month’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
