Tame Impala and Jennie’s “Dracula” saw a substantial streaming increase over Halloween weekend. The original version and remix received a combined 16 million global on-demand streams across platforms from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, according to music data company Luminate.

That total was up from 11 million streams between Oct. 23 and Oct. 25, a 44 percent increase, the report said. Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” remained atop Spotify’s global charts on Oct. 31, while early chart predictions suggested the surge could take “Dracula” to a new peak of No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, above “Thriller.”

Released as a remix in February, “Dracula” has accumulated nearly 1 billion global on-demand streams and become both artists’ first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The original track appeared on Tame Impala’s album Deadbeat.

Kevin Parker, the creative force behind Tame Impala, has said that he wanted Jennie’s voice on the song. The pair discussed the track’s success in a Rolling Stone Musicians on Musicians interview, where Jennie said she found it difficult to understand how the song had taken off, while Parker said he believed her involvement could take it to another level.
