Anderson .Paak and Cordae have reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart with Heavy Is the Crown, their first collaborative album. It is the first time either artist has led the ranking. The album also debuts at No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 11 on the Billboard 200.
Heavy Is the Crown earned 30,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the tracking week of Oct. 23–29, according to Luminate. Album sales accounted for 19,000 units and streaming activity contributed 11,000, with a negligible amount from track-equivalent sales.
Before this release, .Paak’s highest positions on Top Rap Albums were No. 3 with Yes Lawd!, released under his Nxworries duo with producer Knxwledge, and No. 5 with Oxnard. Cordae previously reached No. 6 with The Lost Boy and No. 4 with From a Birds Eye View.
“Airbender” was the leading track from the album, debuting at No. 21 on Hot Rap Songs. It drew 2.4 million official U.S. on-demand streams during the week. The entry marks .Paak’s first appearance on that chart and Cordae’s fourth.
