Justin Timberlake is set to appear in a four-episode documentary series for Apple TV in December, described as featuring revelations, Variety reports. The series will include Janet Jackson discussing the 2004 Super Bowl incident in which Timberlake pulled part of her outfit, exposing her breast.
According to Variety, Timberlake also addresses recent statements by his former girlfriend Britney Spears. In her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, Spears wrote that she had an abortion in 1999, when she was 17 and dating Timberlake, and said the decision was his.
The series is directed by Fisher Stevens. Further details have not been announced. Representatives for Timberlake, Jackson and Apple either declined to comment or did not respond to Variety’s requests.
Timberlake has been associated with Apple since starring in the platform’s 2021 original film Palmer. He has kept a relatively low public profile, with his recent appearances including a performance at a Jay-Z show in Paris. His Forget Tomorrow tour promoted the album Everything I Thought It Was, released in March 2024.
In July last year, the month the tour ended, Timberlake said he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease. He said the condition caused nerve damage and fatigue, affecting some performances. The tour also coincided with his conviction for driving while intoxicated following an arrest in New York. Police body-camera footage later showed he said something like “I’m on tour,” rather than “this is going to ruin the tour,” as Page Six had reported, according to Variety.
