Gideon Kadiri will present his book, “Come la cucina comanda,” at the Centro Pergoli in Falconara Marittima on Sunday, November 8. The 224-page book, published by Mondadori, brings together recipes and the story of Kadiri’s life. He has more than 700,000 social media followers.
Kadiri’s account traces his childhood in Nigeria, his father’s death, his departure for Libya and the outbreak of war, followed by a journey to Lampedusa and his arrival in Falconara Marittima, near Ancona. After reaching the city through a reception community, he faced further difficulties when it closed. A family of restaurateurs then took him in and supported him as he began a new path.
With their help, Kadiri enrolled at the Panzini hospitality school in Senigallia and gained experience in the kitchens of restaurants including Andreina in Loreto and Uliassi in Senigallia. His passion for cooking became central to his career and to “Cucinagideon,” the online community where cooking, everyday life and hope come together.
